It was a forgettable good day for Miranda Lambert. On Wednesday, before the final leg of her Velvet Rodeo residency in Las Vegas began, the 40-year-old country superstar received a ceremonial key to the Las Vegas Strip from Clark County Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick. Additionally, Wednesday was also declared Miranda Lambert Day in the desert city.
As if that wasn’t enough, Lambert received a $140,000 check for the MuttNation charity, money raised from the show at Planet Hollywood — $1 from every ticket purchased during her Velvet Rodeo run was donated to Lambert’s dog foundation.

The “Tin Man” singer founded MuttNation in 2009 with her mom, Bev Lambert. The non-profit organization is dedicated to promoting pet adoption, improving pet owners’ access to spay and neutering, and sharing resources to help people be responsible pet parents.

There’s no doubt that Lambert’s Vegas residency, which began in September 2022, was a huge success. As has been the case since day one, Lambert digs deep into his catalog throughout the concert, pulling out classics like 2007’s “Famous in a Small Town” and 2011’s “Fastest Girl in Town.” He also shows his growth by incorporating new hits like is “If I Was a Cowboy”. “I hear some of you are trying to get together. It’s Wednesday, but we’re in this together,” she told the crowd after showering herself with gifts.

Despite the accolades, the Velvet Rodeo will end on April 6. “I think what I’ll miss most about the Vegas shows is the wardrobe, because everyone is dressed up and it’s really fun to see,” the ACM-winning artist recently said on Instagram, noting that her stage fashion was inspired by Elvis Presley. and the Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. Lambert noted that she has some “really big plans” and a “wildcard” up her sleeve after Vegas.
However, while she’s still there, she’s leaning into the city, even attending a Vegas Golden Knights hockey game on Tuesday night. Of course, she donned a glittering gold jacket for the occasion and excited the crowd by turning on the arena’s noise maker, which produces the sound of a trumpet.
