She has acted in many South Indian and Bengali films. In 2012, she made her Bollywood debut with the movie “Life Ki Toh lag Gayi”. Later, she appeared in several Hindi films such as Main Krishna Hoon (2013) and Begum Jaan (2017). She is the co-founder of the film production company 7 Angels Productions.

She died of kidney failure on October 2, 2020. She had been suffering from kidney problems for several months. According to some media reports, she followed a keto diet in an effort to lose weight, which caused her kidney failure. Her father confirmed the news of her death and said:
Mishti Mukerjee was very, very thin, she was on a ketogenic diet, she had been suffering for 6 to 7 days, she was also admitted to the hospital and her cremation was completed today. Her mother remains deeply shaken by her death. “
