THE WIFE of missing British billionaire Mike Lynch has revealed she was woken up by the tilted superyacht moments before it sank.
Angela Bacares, 57 – now in a wheelchair after walking on broken glass to escape – is waiting for news of her husband and daughter Hannah, 18, who are among six people still missing.

Shocked Angela told Italian outlet La Repubblica that she and her husband were woken at around 4am on Monday by a sudden change on the £14m superyacht.
It sank more than 160ft at around 5am local time when the mast collapsed and the ship capsized off the coast of Sicily, with four Britons and two Americans still missing.
About 22 terrified passengers, most of them British, screamed in terror as the ship capsized.
Angela, who suffered horrific injuries to both feet, told the Italian paper of the “slight tilt” she felt before the tragedy struck.

The shaken mum reportedly told Corriere that “everything was falling” around her and she was almost “washed away” before she managed to escape to safety.
She and her husband weren’t worried at first, but when she got up to investigate, the sound of breaking glass caused panic.

Jonathan Bloomer, 70 – the head of investment banking giant Morgan Stanley – is also among four Britons still missing, along with his wife Judy.
Also yet to be found is New York’s top lawyer Chris Morvill – a lawyer at the big firm Clifford Chance who worked for Mike Lynch – and his wife Neda.
A desperate search resumed on Monday night after 15 people were rescued, with renewed efforts continuing today.
Torrential rain and wind ravaged much of Palermo’s Porticello harbor overnight on Sunday – battering the 183ft superyacht with swirling columns of air that formed plumes of water.
Witnesses said the 246-foot boat mast – the second tallest in the world – snapped in half.
Others told Italian news outlet Ansa that the anchor was down when the storm hit on Monday morning, causing the ship to lose its balance.
Divers confirmed that they found the wreck some 50 meters below the surface on Monday.
The body of a man was found near the wrecked ship.
Although not officially identified, the Palermo Coast Guard said it was the ship’s cook.
15 people were rescued from the water, including a one-year-old British girl, who was held above her head by her mother before they were rescued.
Lynch, previously dubbed “Britain’s Bill Gates”, hosted a party on board with his wife and daughter.
The business tycoon – worth an estimated £852million – was surrounded by members of his law firm and Invoke Capital to celebrate being acquitted of fraud by a US jury earlier this summer.
He was extradited to the US in 2023 over the £8.5 billion sale of his software company Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard in 2011 and was accused of inflating the company’s value.
The father of two spent a year under house arrest in the United States.
He was acquitted of 16 counts of wire fraud, securities fraud and conspiracy after a trial in San Francisco in June.

BAYESIAN superyacht hosted a lavish party for 12 guests, with 10 crew members.
After 15 people were rescued from the water on Monday, six people are missing and one was found dead.
Italian authorities said the man found near the wreckage was a cook who worked on the ship.
Four of the missing are British, and two are Americans.
Mike Lynch (59) and his daughter Hannah (18) are among four Britons lost at sea.
The international president of the banking giant Morgan Stanley, British Jonathan Bloomer (70), also disappeared together with his wife Judy.
As well as top New York lawyer Chris Morvillo, a lawyer at the big firm Clifford Chance who worked for Mike Lynch and his wife Ned.
In a bizarre twist of fate, it was revealed yesterday that Lynch’s former colleague and fraud co-defendant Stephen Chamberlain had died days before the yacht tragedy.
The heroic captain of another ship who helped pull 15 people to safety said he watched the Bayesian disappear beneath the waves.
Karsten Borner revealed his ship was forced to avoid hitting a £14 million ship after a tornado ripped through the Sicilian coast.
And local fisherman Pietro Asciutto told reporters he watched the boat capsize, adding: “I was at home when the tornado hit.
“I immediately closed all the windows. Then I saw a boat, it had only one mast, it was very big. I saw it sink suddenly.
“Shortly after I came down to see better what was going on.
“The boat was still floating, and then suddenly it disappeared. I saw it sink with my own eyes.”
Luca Mercalli, president of the Italian Meteorological Society, said winds of 200 km/h could be felt from Sunday to Monday.
Describing the weather, he said: “A so-called funnel cloud is forming which creates winds of up to 200km/h which can create a waterspout at sea by sucking water into the air.
“The event can be limited to a few hundred meters and be over in ten minutes.”
