Alex Consani likes to bare things when it comes to her skincare routine.
“Okay, okay, here’s some tea, everyone. Here’s the tea. I don’t even wash my face [with a wash or soap]” the model and TikToker, 21, said during a panel at the Teen Vogue Summit on Nov. 23.
Keeping things as simple as possible when it comes to products is always her goal. “I use Bioderma. It’s like a cleansing oil. I just use it to clean my face, use moisturizer and that’s it,” she explained.
Her simple steps are quite different from what she’s seen online, especially the complex regimens teenagers do these days (“You don’t have to mess with your skin barrier when you’re 15,” she says)—but she can relate.
Consani recalled a time when she believed in the “more is more” philosophy, but has since grown into her minimalist approach, which she said “makes my skin look better.”

Since bursting onto the scene with her modeling skills and her comedic TikToks, Consani has become a true style icon on the carpet and catwalk (she made history as one of the first transgender models to walk the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show alongside Valentina Sampaio on October 15 ).
And she hopes her milestones can only encourage more authentic representation in the future.

Alex Consani says it’s ‘crazy’ to be one of the first trans models to walk the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show: ‘We can do more’
“It’s important now to really just talk about trans women as women. I feel like we’re always in a box between being a trans girl or a diversity employee,” she said on the panel. “At the end of the day, what we need to make a difference is to see people as people. I know it’s easier said than done, but I think at the end of the day, when you strip it all down and make it about humanity, it really makes a difference.”
Consani said she overcomes any self-doubt by reminding herself that “you just have to be that bitch,” especially when it comes to rejection.
“Because at the end of the day, being accepted by someone else is not acceptance. In my eyes, being accepted comes from within. I know it sounds corny, but it’s true,” she said. “I always believed I was bigger than the box people put me in. That’s what made me see beyond no.”
