Back in 2018, Ribeiro shared that she got a tattoo in honor of her son Alexandre, who was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder five years ago.
“So this just happened!” the proud mom wrote on social media at the time, along with a picture on which she signed her name.
Ribeiro went on to explain that while she had wanted to get a second tattoo for a while, she “couldn’t find anything meaningful enough until the meeting I had [a] a few weeks ago about autism and children with special needs.”
“I don’t know if you know, and I’ve never been open about it, but my son was diagnosed with autism 5 years ago,” she wrote of her son, before adding that her first tattoo was “his name on the back of my head . ”
“I decided to make a symbol of autism (and children with special needs),” Ribeiro continued, adding that the symbol — a ribbon covered with a puzzle pattern — “is beautiful and perfect just the way I wanted it [it] be.”
“I’m so happy about it ❤️ it means a LOT to me!” she added, before showing off the actual ink on her side in a separate post.
