Legendary singer Syed Mohammed Aziz-un-Nabi was born in West Bengal on July 2, 1954 (he died at the age of 64). His relatives used to call him ‘Munna’. He is a Bollywood, Odia and Bengali playback singer. Famous singer Mohammad Rafi is Aziz’s inspiration. He started singing at a very young age. He is often considered the successor to Mohammed Rafi.Mohammad Aziz It’s hard to believe that Aziz sang about 20k (20,ooo) songs in his life. In addition, he sang hundreds of bhajans and sufi songs. His duets with veteran female singers such as Asha Bhonsle, Anuradha Paudwal, Kavita Krishnamurthy, etc. were deeply loved and appreciated by the audience.

Mohammad Aziz was born into a Muslim family in Guma, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India. He was married at the time of his death. His daughter’s name is Sana Aziz. He believes in Islam.

Profession

He started his career singing in a restaurant called Galib in Kolkata. He made his acting debut in the Bengali film “Jyoti” in 1984, while “Amber” marked his Bollywood debut. When Anu Malik offered him the song “Mard Taangewala” from the movie “Mard” in 1985, it proved to be the breakout song of his career.

Mohammad Aziz’s voice is often mistaken for that of Shabbir Kumar. Many famous music directors, including Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Naushad, Rahul Dev Burman, Bappi Lahiri and Anu Malik, started approaching Aziz after his songs created a sensation among the audience. He is a well-known name in Odia industry. Because he has been working in this industry for a long time and has sung many bhajans. He has been performing on stage in India and abroad since 1967. In the 1980s, Aziz composed some of the best songs of his career that are still remembered today, such as “My Name is Lakhan”, “Apke Aa Jane Se”, “Lal Dupatta Malmal Ka”, etc.

Music director Laxmikant Pyareral recognized his talent and worked with him in many films. After Lakshmi, Aziz’s career took a 180-degree turn as other music directors preferred other singers like Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu etc. instead of Mohammad Aziz Hereby. He has lent his voice to many iconic actors like Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Govinda, Mithun Chakraborty and many more.

In 2017, Mohammad Aziz released a 5-minute video in which he lashed out at Karan Johar. Dialogues from Karan’s film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, in which Anushka Sharma’s character narrates legendary singer Mohammad Rafi; ‘Rafi, Woh Toh Gate Kam The Aur Rote Jyada The’ hurts A Ziz’s feelings. Aziz condemned such shameful remarks in Johar’s film.

Legendary singer Mohammad Aziz passed away due to cardiac arrest on November 27, 2018 at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai. He died at the age of 64.
