Moment Floyd Mayweather is attacked by mob in ‘row over Israel-Palestine’ while he was jewellery shopping in London – The Sun

BOXING legend Floyd “Money” Mayweather was attacked in the street while shopping in central London – amid fears he was targeted because of his support for Israel.

The mob descended on the undefeated former champion and his entourage as the bling-loving king of the ring went shopping in posh Hatton Garden.

Mayweather, who was wearing a green jacket, looked angry as he and his security escorted him into the capital.

The 47-year-old faced the crowd as his bodyguards led him out of the high-end jewelery store and into a waiting black 4×4.

A source close to Mayweather insisted that at no time during the chaos was the fighter touched.

They added that “the audience used racial slurs” towards him.

One witness, who declined to be named, filmed the incident after he ran out of the store into the street.

He told The Sun: “There were maybe eight to ten people involved in his search, and about 20 or 25 watching.

“Mayweather’s security team was outnumbered.

“Someone said Mayweather was shopping when asked why he supports Israel. He doubled down and said he was proud to support Jews.

“Then someone took a swing at him for it. It looked very targeted.

“They got him out of the store but by then there were more people trying to hit him and they were pushing his security guards.”

The eyewitness continued: “Floyd took a few punches during that but his security was trying to push people away.

“I couldn’t see Floyd trying to fight back. His guards were just trying to put distance between him and them.

“They put him in the car and hit the roof twice, and then he sped away. Clearly they were desperate to get him out of there.

“It was over in two minutes.”

Floyd Mayweather, 47, is dropping loads of cash before jetting off on a private jet for an exhibition fight against John Gotti III.

Mayweather is feared to have been targeted by pro-Gaza supporters because of his staunch support for Israel.

The attack came days after the boxer launched the Mayweather Israel Initiative, which he says will give every orphan in Israel a free birthday present.

Mayweather has also visited the Middle East, and in October declared Israel his “home away from home.”

In one of the videos, a man can be heard saying: “You will not believe this man.

“Money Mayweather just got a brother.”

Mayweather appeared to be followed by a group of men as he and his security team walked towards a black car.

As tensions rose, the former boxing champion then got into his car as they drove past ugly scenes.

In another video, Mayweather is seen browsing a store with expensive watches and jewelry.

Mayweather was one of the first major Western stars to visit Israel after the Hamas attacks on October 7 last year, when Islamic terrorists killed 1,200 Israeli civilians.

In February, the boxer confronted a pro-Palestinian activist during a press conference in Las Vegas to launch his new vape brand.

His security team reportedly confiscated a Palestinian flag from an audience member – prompting loud cries of “Free Palestine”.

During a visit last month, Mayweather joined Israel Defense Forces troops at a military base, where he hosted a barbecue.

He too was a guest of Netanyahu (75) at a private meeting to discuss Israel’s history.

Mayweather wrote online: “It was an honor to meet you today.

“Your strength and courage are unparalleled, and your commitment to protecting the Jewish people and the citizens of Israel is truly inspiring. Keep using your voice and never back down.

“This week in Israel was deeply emotional for me.

“Visiting injured soldiers, meeting families of fallen heroes and connecting with the people of Israel was a humbling experience.”

Mayweather officially retired in 2017 after defeating UFC superstar Conor McGregor, 36, but continued to box in exhibitions.

The boxing legend boasts incredible wealth, including the tallest commercial building in the US as one of the NINE skyscrapers he owns.

His other business ventures also include ownership of boxing and fitness gyms around the world, a NASCAR team and a 26,000 square foot skate park facility.

Mayweather also has a welfare foundation established since 2009 that provides a range of services such as free food and learning opportunities for young people.

It came after reports that the boxer had spent more than £300 million ($400 million) on a string of apartments in New York.

Mayweather has a huge business empire that includes property, cars and watches.

However, he is set to add to that empire after agreeing a mega-money deal for a block of Manhattan apartments.
