Monu Goyat joined the Indian Army in 2011 due to his sporting skills. He played a lot of kabaddi games for the army. His coach is Jasvir Singh. He was unable to play in the first three seasons of the Pro Kabaddi League due to his military service. In 2017, he played for the Service Sports Commission and reached the finals of a major tournament. In 2016, Bengal Warriors selected him for the kabaddi season.
