MrBeast is giving away a private island…as well as $10,000 in cash!
A few days before announcing the offer, the YouTuber sent out a tweet that caught the attention of his fans. He stated in his tweet:
“We’ve spent a whole year working on our 100 million subscriber special, and it’s my most expensive and funniest video ever!” I can’t wait to get 100 million views and post this.”
On August 1, 2022, MrBeast announced the long-awaited news. In his YouTube Shorts video, he revealed that instead of being the second independent YouTuber with over 100 million followers, he will be giving away a private island to one lucky user.
In the video, MrBeast is heard declaring:
“I recently hit 100 million subscribers on YouTube and I thought what better way to celebrate than to buy a huge private island and then have a hundred random subscribers fight over it?”
He then called the following video the “craziest” he’s ever made and revealed that it will be released on Thursday, August 4th at 4:00 PM ET. He further said that the first person to leave a comment on the video will receive $10,000. The YouTuber didn’t go into detail about how he chose the 100 random followers or what was expected to happen. However, a look at the video reveals that contestants may be required to make fire or swim as part of the task.

The island gift isn’t the only thing that has cost the YouTuber a lot of money. He previously encouraged 200 random subscribers to compete for $500,000 in a “last man standing” contest. The video featured 100 men and 100 girls, and the last person standing won $500,000 for the entire team.
Subscribers and participants went through a series of mini-challenges in the film. MrBeast’s channel contains tons of identical movies, each of which has received over a million likes. His most popular broadcast by far is the Squid Game challenge. At the time of writing, the Squid Game video has 277 million views and 14 million likes. However, given the excitement surrounding his next video on Thursday, it’s reasonable to predict that the number of likes and views on this new one will exceed those generated by the Squid Game challenge. MrBeast is now on his way to dethrone PewDiePie, the current king of YouTube.
