In 2014, she made her acting debut in the film Lai Bhari, playing the role of Rukmani. In 2015, she played the role of Pihu in the romantic drama Marathi film Tu Hi Re directed by Sanjay Jadhav. Mrunal played the role of Vasanti in the 2017 film “Andya Cha Funda” directed by Santosh Shetty.

Mrunal gained more attention after starring in the 2015 Hindi thriller film “Drishyam”, a remake of the 2013 Malayalam film “Drishyam”. In the film, Ajay Devgn plays her father Vijay Salgaonkar and Shriya Saran plays her mother Nandini Sargaonkar.
