Mum Erin Corner, 31, dies 4 years after toddler Zac lost his life in caravan blaze that left another son, 8, with burns – The Sun

MUM Erin Corner has died four years after her toddler Zac lost his life in a caravan fire in which another of her sons suffered burns.

A statement on Erin’s TikTok page said she “passed away painlessly and peacefully” yesterday morning at the age of 31.

It added: “You all made a huge impact in her final months and weeks and we are very grateful to you all.”

Erin, from Pontrhydfendigaid, Ceredigion, was diagnosed with stage four ampulla cancer last year.

The final diagnosis came just four years after Erin lost her three-year-old son, Zac, in a trailer fire in 2020.

Zac and his four-year-old brother Harley were sleeping over in their father Shaun’s caravan in Ffair Rhos, West Wales when the fire broke out.

Brave Shaun, 28, fought through the smoke and flames in an attempt to save both boys.

He saved Harley and despite his serious injuries he tried to catch Zac, but it was too late and the fire was too strong.

Then doctors told Erin that Harley’s chances of survival were slim because of the extensive burns he had and the fact that he was in a coma.

When Harley woke up, he could remember that his brother had died.

Erin previously lost her infant son Tyler after he went into cardiac arrest in December 2012 – just months after he was born prematurely.

Last year, the mum told how she wrote her surviving sons birthday and wedding cards after receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis.

She said, “They’ve already lost their brothers, and now they’re going to lose their mother.”

Last week, she posted a TikTok video of what she believed would be her last time leaving the house.

Erin said: “Realistically, this will be my last time leaving the house alive – which is pretty realistic.

“This will be the last time I leave the house, by choice, to do something I want. Wildly.”

The mom also recorded her last trip out of the house – to the local McDonald’s drive-thru.

She said: “It’s been an uneventful last trip for me, but nice. I feel absolutely fine – I’m calling that a success.”
