My husband is so fit but I don’t know if marriage will last says Katherine Ryan after revealing how little they have sex

MOST celebrities keep their marital woes a secret, but Katherine Ryan has never been shy about exposing the inner workings of her relationship.

From revealing that she and husband Bobby Koostra sleep in separate beds, to admitting how often they have sex, Katherine, 40, is an open book.

Now, the refreshingly candid comedian admits she doesn’t know if her relationship with childhood sweetheart Bobby, 41, will end after their civil partnership at the end of 2019.

“We’ve only been married for five years, but 50 years? I don’t know,” she says bluntly.

“Everybody’s happy after the first five, whereas I think more about, ‘Can we make it to 20 years, 40 years and 50 years?'”

With the average marriage in the UK lasting barely 12 years, Katherine is realistic, if unromantic.

But one thing is for sure how attractive her husband is – she admits it’s a big reason why their marriage works.

She says: “He’s easy to love – look at the shape he’s in.”

The busy mum-of-three – who shares children Fred, two, and Fenna, 14 months, with Bobby, as well as 14-year-old daughter Violet with ex-boyfriend Alex Edelman – recently admitted that her husband has slipped down her priority list.

She said: “I personally co-sleep [with daughter Fenna]I spend so much time with my children, I am an affectionate parent.

“I potty trained them very, very young which was controversial, I wear them everywhere.

“Maybe my marriage is on the back burner.”

But she is not alone.

One study found that 82 percent of parents who co-sleep with their baby say they have a strained relationship with their other half.

Katherine Ryan claims there is a ‘dangerous comic’ in showbiz as she appears on Desert Island Discs-

Canadian Katherine shares one bedroom with Fenna, and her husband shares the other with their little Fred.

During a recent episode of the W documentary series Katherine Ryan: Parental Controls, Bobby admitted that all of this is less than ideal.

He said: “I kind of miss sleeping with my hot wife.

“It probably wasn’t good for intimacy.

“So we’re missing a few different important links for any relationship.”

Katherine caused a stir earlier this year when she revealed that she and Bobby “have sex exactly twice a month”.

But since then, she has found that things have taken off.

Speaking about how many times they are busy, she said: “That number has gone up a bit as the children have grown up.

“It is important to.

“Luckily, my husband Bobby and I haven’t been married that long and we still really like each other.

Separate bedrooms

“But in reality, working parents with young children are so exhausted at night that intimacy is off the table.

“We find stolen moments in the day, like before going to work or during a nap, which is not always tempting.”

Katherine and Bobby, who works in broadcasting, originally dated as teenagers in Canada — then reunited 20 years later in 2019 after a chance meeting in a pub in Canada while she was visiting from the UK where she is now based .

They were married just eight months later, in a modest civil ceremony.

But while it might be a trend for celebrities to renew their wedding vows – like Rochelle and Marvin Humes, Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch, and Motsi Mabuse and Evgeni Vozniuk – don’t expect Katherine and Bobby to follow suit.

She says: “We haven’t even had our first wedding, so I really doubt that we will renew our vows.”

“We just got married because he couldn’t stay in the country otherwise, and I loved him, so we did it.

“I’m not a traditionalist in the sense that I wanted a big white wedding, but secretly, even though I never thought I’d get married, I like using the word husband.

A chance encounter

“I like to say, ‘My husband . . . my husband leaves wet towels on the floor.’

“It’s romantic. But being a bride was never for me.

“I get enough attention in my life.”

Since she had her two youngest children so close to each other, she says that more children are not in the cards anytime soon.

“I had my daughter Violet when I was 25 and I had a lot of energy,” she says.

“Now I’m 40 years old, I love my children, but I’m a little more tired.

“I would like another half-time, and other days I change my mind — so I don’t know. We’ll see.

“Children are the most wonderful blessing and you never regret having them, but my skin certainly suffered.

“So, maybe another child . . . and facelift.”

But don’t two small children a little later in life make one young at heart?

“No,” she says. “I had them later in life and now I feel old.”

It’s eldest daughter Violet who Katherine says is “stealing the show” on her W reality series – but insists the teenager is in no rush to follow in her mum’s footsteps as an actress.

“She’s funny, she puts on a great face and has great comedic timing, but I feel like that’s because she doesn’t want to be on television,” says Katherine.

“She did it because she thought, ‘It’s a laugh, I’ll do it’. But she has no ambitions to be a TV personality. That’s why she gave such a natural, authentic performance.

“He wants to work in real estate and interior design and has been saying this since he was four years old.

“You rebel against your parents, so she’ll be very polite and always say the right thing—and do architecture or something.”

One of the topics that Katherine does not shy away from in her open stand-up is the extent of her plastic surgery.

She had breast surgery at the age of 20 and says she “thought plastic surgery was an aspirational, very Hollywood thing that rich people could do.”

She adds: “I wanted to be feminine and to be liked.

“That’s how I got breast implants. And they were great.”

Last year, she hinted that she could do more work, joking that her “tits probably need to be fixed” and that she would also consider liposuction.

I like to say, ‘My husband. . . my husband leaves wet towels on the floor.’ It’s romantic. But being a bride was never for me. I get enough attention in my life

But the Botox and fillers fan claims she hasn’t had “anywhere near as much plastic surgery as I’m joking”.

Despite this, cruel trolls take aim at her appearance, calling her a “slab of wax” and accusing her of “looking like she’s about to melt”, or even comparing her head to a horse’s.

But when someone accused her of going “too far” with plastic surgery, an angry Katherine replied: “I had breast implants in 2004 and nothing more.

“Blow my dick. Have a nice day!”

But trolls aside, Katherine, who moved to the UK in 2007, is in high demand.

She has a new panel show, Out Of Order, on Comedy Central, pitting her and Loose Women’s captain Judi Love against opposing teams.

But would she ever see herself chewing the fat alongside Coleen Nolan, Ruth Langsford and Janet Street-Porter on an ITV panel show? “Yes, I should be a loose woman,” she says.

“I feel like I am the freest woman.

“I love being a guest on the show and I really hang out with all of them.”

As much as she’s known for her risque routines, Katherine reveals she has fans in some high places — including royalty.

In 2004, I had breast implants and nothing else. Fuck me. Have a nice day!

“Princess Anne visited me when I was performing,” he says.

“She behaved very politely and said she liked him.

“But that’s what you learn as a royal, to be polite all the time, so we’ll never know if she really liked it.

“I think so—she’s funny.”

But one unpopular member of the royal family has found himself the target of a scathing comic.

“Prince Harry knows I used to write jokes about him,” she says.

“I can only hope those jokes are delivered well, because what you don’t want is a miscommunication.

I called him the Duke of I Just Came Bridge for a while, even though I know he’s the Duke of Sussex.

However, she felt the greatest love for our late queen, whom she met at a garden party.

Katherine says: “She was the best, so beautiful and poised.”

He even recalls Her Majesty’s Taylor Swift-like star-studded call – saying people “went absolutely crazy” for her – adding: “We miss her so much.”
