BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty has warned her fans about a fake account impersonating her on Instagram.
On her Instagram page, the female journalist shared a screenshot of an account with a username similar to Naga and took the presenter’s photo as her profile picture.
Naga captioned the post: “This account is not mine. It is impersonating me. My account is @tvnaga.”
Fans were quick to react to Naga’s warning, with some recognizing the fake profile. One wrote: “Yes, I received the request but I know it’s fake”, while another added: “Yes, Naga, I received the request to follow him but I know it right away. must be you.”

Naga’s announcement comes just a day after she announced that her documentary series, Complaints and Shame, will return for another season.

Sharing a clip from the new season, the 48-year-old wrote on Instagram: “New series warning! We’re back @bbcone @10am X today.”
The series, which has run for 15 seasons, exposes the growing problem of insurance fraud and follows a team of investigators as they hunt down suspected fraudsters.

The TV star’s followers were quick to share their excitement for the new episodes, with one person writing: “I’ll watch, I love this show,” while another added: “Yes, Naga. Great show. Nice to watch again.”
Another fan couldn’t help but mention Naga’s recent appearance on a BBC quiz show, I have news for you. Praising her presentation skills, they wrote: “However, unrelated to this show, I would like to say that I saw you on Have I Got News For You… I think you are the host. [excellently]. Witty, witty, hairy tongue. I absolutely love it. I wish it was a regular gig.”

On the episode that aired on Friday 2 June, Naga presented the show, which featured former Scottish Conservative Party leader Ruth Davidson, and regular captains Ian Hislop and Paul Merton.
Naga was praised by many viewers for her appearance on the show, and many invited the journalist to become a permanent host.

Naga Munchetty’s career on TV
After graduating from the University of Leeds with a degree in English Literature and Languages, Naga went on to earn a postgraduate degree in journalism, which led to her first writing jobs for The Evening Standard and The Observer.

The BBC star, who is married to television director James Haggar, made his television debut working at Reuters Financial Television before taking on various roles at CNBC Europe, Channel 4 News and Bloomberg Television.
Naga joined the BBC in 2008, initially working on BBC Two work lunch before presenting news stories for BBC News and eventually becoming the main presenter at BBC Breakfast 2014, replacing Susanna Reid when she left Good Morning Britain.

Naga can also be heard online, hosting the morning show on BBC Radio 5 Live from 11am to 1pm, Monday to Wednesday.
