Naomi Biden Shares Video of Sentimental Dance with Grandfather Joe Biden at Her Wedding on First Anniversary

Naomi Biden shared a touching moment with her grandfather President Joe Biden at her wedding to husband Peter Neal last year.

In honor of her first anniversary, the president’s granddaughter, 29, and her husband shared a video reminiscing about the happy day. Among the footage is a special moment where Naomi danced a sweet dance with President Biden.

“One year ago today 🤍,” the couple wrote in their joint caption.

President Biden – who turned 81 on Monday – was seen on video holding hands with Naomi as the two danced in front of guests at the reception. He smiled broadly in a classic black tuxedo with a black bow tie and a white button down shirt. She wore a white strapless wedding dress with white sheer gloves.

“Welcome to the White House,” the president said in a taped speech. “It’s a great honor to live here and it’s a huge debt I owe to the American people. But I’ve never felt at home until today.”

“As I sat and listened to the love of my life, my girlfriend… I felt at home,” he continued. “I look around and see families becoming a family. And the family of this family. Our brothers, our sisters, our nephews, our nieces and everyone. And I enjoy it so much.”

Other shots in the video showed plenty of emotional moments on the beautiful day, including a gathering of the newlyweds’ extended family on Truman’s White House balcony, which was festooned with white flowers.

The president and first lady Jill Biden were also snapped walking into the wedding reception together holding hands. “It is with great joy that I welcome you to the White House to celebrate the wedding of Naomi and Peter,” said Dr. Biden as she stood at the podium during the reception.

Naomi was also seen dancing with father Hunter Biden at her wedding.

“Peter, I couldn’t have hoped for someone more brilliant, handsome, loyal and generous to my daughter than you,” Hunter, 53, said in the video.

In other shots, the wedding party danced and mingled on a huge dance floor covered in silver balloons while several musical numbers were performed. Elsewhere during the reception, Naomi and her husband were filmed cutting the first slice of their tiered wedding cake towering above them.

The couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary over the weekend.

The couple’s fairytale wedding ceremony was also captured in the video as a choir sang outside the White House and bells rang. White chairs were also seen placed on the South Lawn of the White House next to a white aisle with white flowers on the side.

In one shot, Naomi stood in the Blue Room in a white lace wedding dress and a wide veil. She was later seen sharing an emotional moment with dad Hunter in the same room as he kissed her and they embraced.

The newlyweds were seen sharing several sweet moments together in the video as they walked hand-in-hand on the White House lawn after their wedding and kissed on the Truman Balcony.

Naomi made another outfit change to a white corset and white tailored trousers with a white cape as she joined Neal at the reception.

“Peter, I want you to know … I’ve been praying for Naomi since the day you were born,” Neal’s mother, Mary Neal, said at the wedding reception. “Peter and Naomi, first I want you to take a moment and look around you. I want you to look at every person here. Because those are the people who love you the most on this planet,” she added later.

In an emotional speech, Naomi’s sister Finnegan Biden paid tribute to their uncle Beau Biden, who died in 2015. “I won’t say any more because I’m going to cry… but Uncle Beau would be so proud of you.” said the 23-year-old.

The 2022 wedding was the first at the White House in almost ten years.

“Peter, you are a piece of our puzzle that we didn’t know was missing,” Naomi’s sister Maisy Biden said tearfully in her speech. “And now that you have completed us, I cannot imagine life without you and Naomi together.

The 22-year-old added: “I don’t think this speech will ever be completely finished because your love never ends.”

Naomi became the first granddaughter of a sitting president to marry Neal at the White House last November, in the first wedding there in nearly a decade.

The wedding comes after Naomi, who graduated from Columbia Law and is the oldest daughter of Hunter and his ex-wife, Kathleen Buhle, and Neal, who interned for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and at the White House, became engaged in September 2021.
