Nicole Kidman Seemingly Confirms Another Season of Big Little Lies: ‘We Will Be Bringing You a Third One’

The third season of the series Big little lies is apparently in the works, according to Nicole Kidman.

The actress, 56, seemingly confirmed that a sequel to the limited series is on the horizon as she took part in an undisclosed fan event, as seen in a video shared by DeuxMoi on Instagram on Friday.

“I loved it Big little lies because it kind of happened at a point in my life when I had children and was thinking about retiring, and then this situation came up where Reese Witherspoon and I could produce that series,” said Kidman. “And then you all watched it and achieved great success.”

“We will bring you the third one, just for your information,” added the star.

Representatives of Kidman, as well as HBO — which aired Big Little Lies – did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Reese Witherspoon remembers ‘Wild’ director Jean-Marc Vallée, one year after his death: ‘I miss you’

Although both seasons Big little lies praised by fans and critics alike, one of the show’s stars said a third season was off the cards following the death of season one director Jean-Marc Vallée, who died of a heart attack aged 58 in December 2021.

During a GQ video interview. Kravitz, 34, said: “We talked a lot about making season three. Unfortunately, Jean-Marc Vallée, our incredible director, passed away last year. It’s heartbreaking.”

She continued: “I can’t imagine going on without him. He really was a visionary for that show. Sadly, it’s over.”

Back in 2019, HBO president Casey Bloys said a potential third attempt didn’t seem possible for another reason.

“I love this group of people — I would do anything with them,” Bloys told TVLine at the time when asked about the prospect of a renewal. “But the reality is that they are some of the busiest actresses working in Hollywood. … I just don’t think it’s realistic.”
