  • In 2019, there were reports that Nargis quit the promotions of the film Amavas (2019) midway and left the country. She was reportedly annoyed with the media because they kept asking her about her personal life (breakups with Matt Alonzo and Uday Chopra). Nargis made his position clear during the controversy, saying:

The entire experience of promoting the film, albeit brief, was very laborious due to a complete lack of communication and planning on their part (producer Sachin Joshi and the film’s team). My team gave them 7 days to advance and they took advantage of it promptly. So I don’t know where the argument about me leaving early etc. comes from. To be honest, I had no idea that the film’s release was delayed and there was no update on their promotional plans and activities. Nonetheless, I made sure to be present and promote the film within the mutually agreed upon time frame. Now, it is very frustrating and unacceptable to see them make such a statement about my professional commitments because the film team did not live up to their commitments. “
