Naveen Kumar Goyat was born on Monday, February 14, 2000, in Sultanpur, Haryana, India (age 23; as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Aquarius. After completing his schooling, he went to Kurukshetra University to pursue his degree. Naveen Kumar’s grandfather was a wrestler who introduced him to the sport. Naveen Kumar was the first person from his village to become a professional athlete. In an interview with the media, he narrated how after winning his first local kabaddi tournament, he decided to join the Professional Kabaddi League (PKL) and started gaining weight. He said,

They had watched PKL before and saw that the players were all in good shape. I weighed 70kg at the time, so they decided to double my food intake every day. I used to drink a liter of milk a day, they turned to two liters. They stuffed me with almonds. I can’t handle it. I did this for five days and then told my parents I couldn’t do it anymore. They agreed, but only after experiencing a few stomach upsets. “

In 2018, Naveen Kumar started playing for the Dabang Delhi team, participating in the PKL Season 6, scoring 177 points, helping the team enter the playoffs. In the seventh season, he won the Most Valuable Player Award and the team ranked second. Naveen became one of the best Raiders in the league, scoring 300 points in a single season. He earned the nickname “The Navan Express” for his quick raids and became the fastest player in league history to reach 600 points.

In the end, the Indian team defeated the Iranian team 33-29. Naveen Kumar also participated in the 13th South Asian Games and scored a super ten in the final against Sri Lanka. Thereafter, he participated in the 2023 Asian Kabaddi Championship in Busan and helped India win another gold medal. Subsequently, he was selected for the 2023 Asian Games hosted by China.
