Oklahoma City Thunder basketball star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is about to have a new title!
In an Instagram post on Sunday, the Canadian athlete, 25, revealed that he and his girlfriend Hailey Summers are expecting their first child together.
The post featured a sweet photo of the NBA star grinning from ear to ear as he closed his eyes and held Summers’ baby bump. The mother-to-be proudly showed off her growing baby bump as she smiled for the camera and wore a long-sleeved crop top and black trousers.
While the post didn’t go into detail about the happy news, Gilgeous-Alexander wrote in the caption, “2024β¦π©ΆβΎοΈ.”
Fellow basketball player Chet Holmgren commented, “2 2.0 π.” Athlete Nerlens Noel wrote, “Yessa Shai Dai!π₯π―.” According to ClutchPoints, the parents-to-be have been together for at least six years. Like Gilgeous-Alexander, Summers is also a talented athlete.

“5 years later.. thank you football, for everything, but most importantly thank you for bringing me the best friends I could ask for β€οΈ #2 out,” read the caption of her post in 2021.
In addition to playing basketball, Gilgeous-Alexander also models for Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS brand. He and Brazilian soccer player Neymar Jr. and San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Nick Bosa were chosen to model the brand’s menswear in an October launch announcement.

In a recent conversation with Kardashian (43) for Interview Gilgeous-Alexander opened up about the role of his friends and family in helping him with his mental health.
“I do a lot with friends and family, just because they give me an escape from the spotlight, the NBA life,” he said. “A lot of them are back home and living their daily lives, so I can get away from all the craziness that this life brings when I’m with them.”
