In the last few weeks, medical associations like the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) and the Indian Medical Association (IMA) have been demanding a revision of the NEET PG cut-off and the associations have demanded that the cut-off marks be brought down to 30 percent.

He stated that the reduction in NEET PG 2023 cut-off will not lower the standard of medical education or compromise the service. Students will be admitted to postgraduate programs after a rigorous MBBS course and the curriculum of the program is designed to serve the medical needs of the country. However, no confirmation has been made regarding the announcement of reduced NEET PG cutoff and revised cutoff.

On September 13, 2023, IMA, in a letter addressed to the Minister of Health and Family Welfare of the Union, called on the Minister to review the criteria for limiting the allocation of vacancies to postgraduate students. According to reports, a total of 3744 seats were vacant after NEET PG Counseling 2022. IMA President Dr. Sharad Kumar stated that the reduction in the cut-off will not only reduce the number of vacancies but also provide the medical education system with the desired faculties in the next three years

The Medical Counseling Commission is conducting the NEET PG counseling and has postponed the announcement of the 3rd round seat allotment results. The results of the third round of allotment were scheduled to be announced on 16 September 2023. MCC is expected to give an official confirmation regarding the announcement of the third round of allotment results soon. According to the cut-off values ​​published earlier, candidates from non-reserved categories must have at least 50 percentile, while those from the categories of persons with disabilities must have 45, and the cut-off percentile for reserved category students is 40 percentile.
