“This is a very fun time in my life because I didn’t really get to be single in my 20s, did I? So it’s only recently, I mean in the last few years, that I’ve become single again.”

But even though dating is fun at the moment, the “All Good Things (Come to an End)” singer admitted that getting through the breakup was still tough.
“Oh my God. I need a sip of water,” Furtado said when Cooper asked what made her latest breakup painful. “I finally kind of got to that, you know, yellow brick road, and it was supposed to be for me, and then it turned out it wasn’t, and that’s why it hit so hard. You know what I mean? Because it was the first time I felt, you know, so right.”
Furtado was previously in a relationship with composer Jasper Gahunio, with whom she shares daughter Nevis, 21; audio engineer Demacio Castellon and, most recently, rapper Jerry, with whom she shares a daughter, 6, and a son, 5 (whose names she keeps secret).
“And it’s that idea when safety just gets pulled out from under you, or the rug gets pulled out and you go, ‘Oh my God. I still have a lot to learn. I have a lot to learn about myself,’ and maybe you had a terrible experience, and certainly, I went through a very difficult period where I think I accepted some things that I would never accept now, in terms of the way you were treated,” she continued. is.
