NeNe Leakes Slams Porsha Williams for Allegedly Refusing to Film Netflix Show Together: ‘She Is Not a Star’

NeNe Leakes is calling out Porsha Williams for allegedly refusing to film with her on Netflix The Upshaws.

“Earlier this week my management company told me that Netflix has a script for a series The Upshaws they were interested in my role,” Leakes, 56, explained at the start of a series of Instagram Story posts on Friday.

Former The Real Housewives of Atlanta star shared with her followers that she was “excited to do it” because it’s a comedy and stars the likes of Mike Epps and Wanda Sykes.

“I haven’t seen Porsha. We always have a good laugh when we see each other, so I was like, ‘Okay, me and Porsha are going to kill this role,'” Leakes said of her former Bravo co-star.

She recalled flying to Los Angeles and heading to the studio to talk to the wardrobe department. She was told to choose a different outfit than the one she had originally chosen because Williams would be wearing a similar outfit. Leakes said she agreed, but did not see Williams at the show’s rehearsal.

“Porsha never came,” she claimed. “We finished for the evening. I went back to my hotel, and when I got to the hotel, the production called me and asked if I had any problems with housewives because they intended to change the other position.”

Leakes said she told production that she had no problems with either of them housewives and that Williams’ role was eventually given to Cynthia Bailey, another Atlanta alum.

“I was told later that Porsha didn’t show up for work and said she didn’t want to work with me. That we had issues in the past and she didn’t want to work with me,” Leakes claimed, noting that she was “beyond disappointed “.

Leakes said the two “went out a couple of times,” spent time at each other’s houses and reminisced about trips to Miami, Dubai and Las Vegas together.

“I’m shocked to hear that Porsha would go to a production company and say she doesn’t want to work with me because we’ve had a lot of issues in the past,” Leakes added. “What problems have we had in the past?”

Leakes said she texted Williams, 42, before filming her video and was told back that she was going through a divorce and that Leakes “hasn’t reached out to her little sister.” In February, Williams filed for divorce from Simon Guobadia after 15 months of marriage.

According to Leakes, she didn’t want to be “nosy” or “nosy” or invade Williams’ privacy. She also claimed that she “fought for Porsha” to stay The Real Housewives of Atlanta when she was divorcing her first husband Kordell Stewart in 2013.

“The bottom line is Porsha didn’t want to share the spotlight. That’s it. Professionals can share the spotlight. Porsha is not a star, she’s a Bravolebrity. Be clear,” Leakes said at the end of her video.

The last time Leakes and Williams shared the small screen together was season 12 The Real Housewives of Atlanta In 2020, Leakes left the show at the end of that season, while Williams left the following season. Williams recently announced that she will return for the upcoming ’16 season.
