Netflix One Piece Live Action cast, release date, trailer and more

One Piece, an anime adaptation of Eiichiro Oda, debuted on Netflix yesterday, August 31, 2023, and fans are eagerly awaiting new episodes. The eight-part series has already been watched in its entirety. So, will there be a One Piece season 2? At the center of the adaptation are the Straw Hat Pirates and their captain Luffy (Iaki Godoy), who explore every corner of the ocean in search of the ultimate treasure that will make him the pirate king. Here’s all the information we currently have on One Piece Season 2, including news, likely plots, and any release date rumors.

Netflix One Piece Live Action Cast

Unofficial: The first season of One Piece just became available on Netflix, so it’s unlikely anything will be announced for a while. But there will likely be interest given the current fan base. In addition to recreating part of the East Blue manga saga, the first season of the live-action One Piece on Netflix follows the first season of the anime series. There are a whopping 1,073 animated episodes as of August 2023, and the show is currently in its 20th season, so there’s a ton of material for future seasons to build on. The (sort of) post-credits scene from the first season of One Piece could give viewers a hint of what might happen in the second season.

Before the credits begin to roll, the series cuts to a mysterious and ominous scene where a misty haze appears. Anime fans will recognize this smoke as the Smoker. The Straw Hats may be trying to fight him due to his unusual ability to turn into pure smoke. Could that be a story point for season two? We expect to see a cast list similar to that of the first season of One Piece if confirmed. They include Langley Kirkwood as Captain Morgan, Emily Rudd as Nami, Iaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy and Mackenyu Arata as Roronoa Zoro.

The release date of One Piece Season 2 is uncertain as it has not been officially announced. But given the chronology of the first season, we could guess. The film’s production lasted from January 2022 to August 2022, and it was released in August 2023, a full year later. Fans should expect that if the second season is announced in the coming weeks, production will likely begin in January 2024 and end in the summer of 2025. Hmm. I guess we’re stuck watching the first season of One Piece all the time for now. Stay tuned for further information.
