Superman: Legacy The official S-Shield for James Gunn’s DC Universe has been revealed, along with a new title as filming gets underway. The DCEU movie timeline will be replaced by Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC movie series in the form of DC Universe. The first film to be released in DC Studios’ DC Universe is Superman: Legacywhich will focus on the young minds of tomorrow.
To celebrate Superman’s birthday, Gunn shared the official logo for the new Man of Steel on Threads. Superman: Legacy The cast has now begun principal photography. However, the news also comes with a major change for the DC Universe, as Gunn also announced that the film will now be renamed Superman . Check out Gunn’s statement and logo below:
I’m very excited to announce that principal photography on Superman will begin today (February 29th), which coincides with – coincidentally and unplannedly – Superman’s birthday(!) When I was finishing the first draft of the script, I titled the film for Superman: Legacy. When I locked in on the final draft, it was obvious that the title would be Superman. Superman Costume First Look Explained
Before Superman After filming began, the logo was actually posted online via nameplates on the cast’s table readings.This special version of the House of El symbol is based on Superman Kingdom Come Authors: Mark Wade and Alex Ross. The only major difference is that the black in the shield has been replaced by yellow, one of Superman’s classic colors.
Based on the latest Superman According to Gunn’s latest update, photos of the costume seem to indicate that it’s not necessarily spandex, but something closer to what Henry Cavill wears in the DCEU. Looking closely at the S-Shield, there’s more yellow on the outside of the actual shield, which is a new feel compared to past live-action Superman costumes. Until Gunn shares a full official look at the outfit, the world can only guess on Corenswet what the rest of the outfit looks like.
Time will tell what a true full-body suit will look like, including cape and boots.
