ICC World Cup 2023 New Zealand Team and Players: Cricket is one of the most watched sports in the world, and is particularly popular in the countries that were the former colonies of Britain, where it originated. New Zealand is one such country.
New Zealand is a high-ranked cricket team and has finished as runners-up in the last two seasons of the World Cup in 2019 and 2015. New Zealand is a dominant and highly skilled team that provides exciting action in every match.
The team consists of several famous fast bowlers, explosive strikers and all-rounders. After two consecutive heartbreaks, New Zealand will be looking for the ICC World Cup trophy this year. It is the most prestigious cricket tournament in the world and is held only every four years.
New Zealand are among the favorites to win the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, but the odds are stacked against them this time.
India is hosting the 2023 Cricket World Cup and has a tendency to perform well at home. Pakistan and Australia have also performed well in their recent ODI games. But all eyes will be on New Zealand as they open the World Cup, playing defending champions England.
With just over a month to go until the start of the World Cup, teams have started to announce their 15-man squads ahead of the September 28 deadline. Kane Williamson has already been confirmed for the New Zealand team, and the complete list of players was finalized on September 11.

New Zealand coach Gary Stead said in a statement:
“It is always a special time to name the team of the tournament and I would like to congratulate the 15 players who have been selected today. It is a great honor to represent your country at the World Cup. From Kane and Tim going to their fourth tournament to guys being drafted for the first time, it’s always a very exciting time. As with any team named for an ICC tournament, there have been some tough calls and there will be some disappointed players. The key for us was to find the right balance for the team and make sure our bases are covered for what will be a very competitive tournament.”
