At full-time, however, Jordan Pickford appeared to have fallen out with Bruno Guimaraes.

The Brazilian ace was seen pointing in the face of the England international.

Players from both sides then got involved in the middle of the field with as many as 13 players involved in the skirmish.

The Everton goalkeeper was taken away by his teammates.

He could have angered Newcastle’s stars with his wild side-of-the-knee celebration.

Joelinton refused to let the argument lie as he too had to be dragged away by Newcastle’s coaching staff.

Pickford, on the other hand, was removed by his teammates.

Toon defender Fabian Schar also played a prominent role in the altercation, at one point clashing with Pickford.

A fourth added: “Pickford has got to be the worst person to lose because the man is an absolute wind trader.”

McNeil hailed the win as he spoke to Amazon Prime after the game: “A great result – a great result at home.

“Back-to-back wins and from the bottom three, a clean sheet at home and now we just have to keep going because we have a big game at home on Sunday.

“It’s brilliant to play under him, it gives you goosebumps.
