NF grew up listening to a lot of rap music growing up. He also stated that he was inspired by Eminem. Unfortunately, people often misjudge it as an ‘Eminem copycat’ because it sounds quite similar. Nathan started his rap career back in 2010 and released his debut album titled Moments. The following year, he designed his debut single alone where two other artists performed. Then in 2012 he released his debut EP I’m free. He released this EP on the Xist Music label, but left the label after the EP’s launch. The following year he released several singles.
In 2014, he signed a contract with a new music label and released another EP called NF. This EP reached a larger audience as it charted on various weekly charts. He eventually released his first studio album Summer house on his 24th birthday (March 31, 2015). This album reached many more people as it started appearing on various TV channels. The following year, he released two singles that were later included on his second studio album Therapy session. In January 2017, he went on his first self-titled tour Therapeutic tour.
In October 2017, he released his third studio album Perception. The album broke many of his previous records. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. The single from the album ‘Let you down‘ took over the internet and became his most popular song to date. So far, the song has earned over a billion streams on Spotify.
