Nick Cannon Says He Doesn’t ‘Live a Normal Existence’ as a Father of 12: ‘But I Embrace It’ (Exclusive)

Nick Cannon knows that his role as a father of twelve is anything but ordinary.

In an exclusive chat with PEOPLE surrounding his new Buffalo Wild Wings commercial to promote the restaurant chain’s “Buy One, Get One Wing” deal, the multi-hyphenated star, 43, also opens up about having multiple children with different women.

When asked to describe the most challenging aspect he currently faces while raising children ranging in age from infants to near-teens, Cannon says, “My whole life is challenging. I don’t live a normal life, but I embrace it. I like challenges.”

“I wouldn’t say there is one specific thing that stands out more than another,” he adds. “Every day is a new challenge and I accept it.”

“The first time they say that, whether they’re a year old or 18 months, to hear it from your kids who are on the verge of being teenagers, there’s nothing better than that,” he continues, also noting that “big hugs” and “picking them up from schools” are some other “best” moments.

Right now, Cannon says he’s “finally catching up” after celebrating the holidays with his kids and is now “getting ready for all the spring break ahead.”

“So we’re getting back outside a lot, a lot of basketball starts again, and just a lot of sports and outdoor activities,” he explains. “As a dad, it’s the kind of thing you structure your schedule around, all your kids’ extracurricular activities.”

When asked if she has any plans to welcome more children into her larger-than-life brood, Cannon laughs, telling PEOPLE, “I’m relaxed right now. No plans on the horizon yet.”

“It’s so funny, everyone is always trying to get me to have more kids,” she continues. “As if 12 isn’t enough?”
