Nicki Minaj has released her new documentary series Nicki. The Anaconda singer has not yet announced the release date of the series. However, she said on social media that she will be available soon. Minaj went on to say that the documentary will be released on HBO Max and will consist of six episodes. In her social media caption, Minaj said:
“I’m thrilled to have #HBOMAX on board to help me convey my story in such a sensitive and memorable way. A method that my fans will remember for the rest of their lives. This document is on another level. I can assure you of that.”
Minaj’s teaser shows the rapper in New York before she became famous, followed by snippets of her success. Minaj can be heard saying in the video:
“There is no instruction manual for being a successful rapper.” You just figure things out as you go.”
Kenneth Perry, Nick’s husband, appears on TV and remarks that his wife is the strongest she has ever been in her life.
Minaj can be heard saying in the video:
“I never wanted to fit in. I was approached by the Mainstream.”
The video ends with the following message:
“A legend this true can only tell a story this sincere.”
Michael John Warren, who previously worked on documentaries with Nicki Minaj, hosted the series. Warren explained the series in a statement:
“I love that this series not only gives us an inside look at one of the most iconic artists of our generation, but also showcases the fearless woman behind the artist, Onika. I feel we can all learn a lot from her remarkable career and personal life. It is a privilege to entrust me with such an exciting story.”

Nicki Minaj’s documentary series debut is not her first. In 2010, the singer starred in Nicki Minaj: My Time Now, a special MTV documentary. The concert was notable for Minaj’s viral speech about Pickle Juice. The program positioned Minaj as a role model for women trying to break into the entertainment industry.
Nicki Minaj released a sequel to the series called My Time Again in 2015. Minaj reveals in the episode that she hopes to have a family by the time she releases her next documentary. Minaj’s documentary series for HBO Max comes out seven years later, now that she is married and has a child.
