Nicolas Cage’s Ex-Wife Christina Fulton Is Said To Have Sued Erika Jayne Over Fraud

RHOBH’s Erika Jayne is in hot water again. Christina Fulton, Nicolas Cage’s ex-wife, is reportedly suing Jayne and her ex-husband Tom Girardi for more than $750,000 over allegations of fraud and theft. Christina Fulton, 55, filed the lawsuit Friday, July 15, saying Jayne, her estranged husband Tom Girardi and two of his former co-workers misused her $924,000 in accident compensation to support their own lives.

On July 18, Christine Fulton’s California attorney Ronald Richards told E! News that the actress “had a forged settlement check, had her money taken within days of the deposit, and was kept in the dark until our inquiry revealed what happened.”

Regarding the complaint, Richards added:

“To lure her, the company made modest payments, provided false status updates verbally and on paper, and was let down by the three attorneys who represented her in her settlement. The money taken from the corporate trust account was later used to fund the personal living expenses of the Girardis, including Erika Girardi, through her company EJ Global LLC.”

According to the complaint:

“Plaintiff’s settlement proceeds were used to pay debt on Erika and EJG’s American Express credit or charge cards and subsequently PMI.” Erika’s personal expenses were fully covered by the plaintiff’s money from the business account of Nano Bank. Girardi Keese paid Erika $407,058.19 in 2019 through her wholly owned EJG LLC. Her claims also grew. In the same year, the plaintiff was supposed to receive settlement money. Erika stole the plaintiff’s compensation money. The evidence speaks for itself.”

Christina Fulton has filed a lawsuit against RHOBH star Erika Jayne for misappropriating her ex’s assets.

Christina Fulton is suing the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills actress and her ex-husband, Tom Girardi, for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and statutory malpractice, among other claims. She, who began dating Nicolas Cage in late 1988 but split shortly after the birth of their now 31-year-old son, Weston Coppola Cage, in 1990, was seriously injured in a car accident in 2016.

She hired Girardi & Keese, an 83-year-old retired attorney, to defend her in a personal injury case. The Hard Drive actress reportedly received a $924,300 settlement in the March 2019 issue, but Christina said she had no idea “where her money went until today.”

Earlier this month, she claimed she discovered her settlement award had been “blown up” and that her previous legal counsel had “lied to her”.

According to the lawsuit, Tom and his estranged wife used the settlement money as “their assets” to fund their “lavish lives.” The plaintiff filed suit against the “public couple who promoted money and success,” seeking $750,000 in damages.

Richards, her attorney, told Page Six:

“Erika benefited from that money, which [were] used to create material for the program ‘Kućanice’, for which she was compensated.” She received payments from vendors directly from that money and personally benefited by embezzling our client’s settlement.”

Her legal troubles began in November 2020, when she filed for divorce from her husband of 21 years, Tom Girardi. A month later, the estranged couple was accused of stealing $2 million in compensation from the victims of the plane tragedy. However, the charges against her were apparently dropped in Illinois in January.

Earlier last month, the couple was named in a new lawsuit. According to the complaint, Edelson PC claims the reality TV star had “precise knowledge” of Tom’s alleged misdeeds. She, however, disputed the allegations. In May, she informed us about her legal problems:

“I am in the center of attention. Instead of pointing to lawyers who have worked at the firm and recommending lawyers and, you know, legal finance people, they point to me. It was hard on my mental health. No questions. But, once again, I couldn’t lose and I was determined to fight in any way possible, and I still am.”

Erika continued to film the Bravo program despite the legal problems. The reality TV star has yet to speak publicly about Christina’s case.
