Nidhi was born on Sunday, 30 November 1997 in Chakradharpur, Jharkhand (age 22; as of 2019). Her zodiac sign is Sagittarius. She completed her education from Railway English School, Chakradharpur and Kendriya Vidyalaya Chakradharpur School. To further her musical education, she moved to Adityapur, Jharkhand. She joined Women’s College, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand to complete her Masters in Music.

At the age of six, Nidhi began receiving musical training from Molly Bhattacharyaji and Chandrakant Apte. She participated in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs (2011) aired on Zee Bangla. In 2016, she auditioned for Indian Idol 9 in Kolkata and made it to the finals, but failed to make it through the finals in Mumbai. In 2019, she auditioned again for Indian Idol 11 in Jamshedpur and after eight rounds, she was among the top 15 contestants.
