Nikki Glaser is known for her scathing criticism on Comedy Central roasts – but the comic says the joke about her – made by Pete Davidson – is still terrible.
“I still think about some of the jokes that were made about me during the roast six years ago, and they still haunt me,” Glaser, who is hosting the upcoming Golden Globes, said on the Jan. 3 episode. Checking with Vogue. “I see them when I look in the mirror. It will reveal things about you that you don’t even know about yourself, or it’s something you’ve always been, like, ‘I think that about myself, but I’m just really mean to myself. No one else noticed.’ ”

She especially remembered one joke when Pete Davidson said that “I have no ass”.
“I mean, I knew I didn’t, and I know I don’t,” said Glaser, 40, but “the fact that Pete Davidson realized that and, like, accepted it and — I accepted it, too, and it hurts me because I don’t ass — but the fact that he actually thought about it, or maybe someone wrote the joke for him … but at least he had to be like, ‘That suits her.’ ”
“It hurt me,” she said.
“It’s my least favorite part of the show when I’m at the roast and I see my name on the teleprompter. I said, ‘Oh, let’s go,'” Glaser said. ” ‘How bad is this going to be?’ And then you love each other, smile politely and just try to cover it up. I mean, I cried at one of the after-parties because I was, like, really sad about something.”

However, she said that being open to comments is why she is a successful roaster.
“I think that’s one of the reasons why I feel like I can get away with it is because I’m putting myself out there and I’m open about these things, so I should be able to say what I want. But really some of it is so, so deep shit. ”
“I’d like to say, ‘Oh, it’s just a joke. Nothing really falls and we don’t take it personally,’ she said. “But we absolutely want to.”
She shared that one joke on Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin In 2019, he forced her to seek aesthetic procedures.
“Blake Griffin said I looked like Larry Bird, and the reaction from the crowd was so overwhelming — it just killed it, I was like, I can’t deny it,” she said. “That was the first time I went and got injections in my face in a way that was like, let’s restructure things. So yes, there are definitely consequences.”
