Niranjan Iyengar is an Indian screenwriter, lyricist and author. He is famous for his work with Karan Johar.

Niranjan Iyengar was born on Wednesday, April 9, 1969, in Anand, Gujarat (age 51 in 2020). His zodiac sign is Aries. He attended Adarsh High School in Dombivali, Mumbai. He attended Williamson College in Franklin, Tennessee, USA. While studying at Williamson, he made many friends, but later decided that college was not for him and withdrew his name from the college. He then transferred to Ruhia College, where he studied science for two years before dropping out.

Niranjan Iyengar started his career as a film journalist, working for G Magazine. Since then, he has developed connections in the film industry. After six years in journalism, he began assisting Manish Malhotra and started designing costumes and ramps for films. He worked for Manish for three and a half years.
Soon, he decided to start writing again. He suggested that Karan Johar publish a book on the making of the film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham… (2001). Karan Johar was fascinated by the idea and asked Niranjan to write the book. His book “The Making of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham” was published in 2001.
He made his debut as a dialogue writer in 2003 with the film Jism.
He has written dialogues for the most famous Bollywood movies like Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006), Fashion (2008), Wake Up Sid (2009), My Name Is Khan (2010), Ra .No.1 (2012), Student of the Year (2012) and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016). He made his debut as a lyricist with the film “Kurban” (2009).
He has written many songs in Bollywood films; “Tere Naina” in My Name is Khan (2010), “Sajda” in My Name is Khan (2010), “I “Noor-E-Khuda”, “Chammak Challo” in “The Name Is Khan” (2010) “from “Ra. One” (2012) and “Dama Dam Mast Qalandar” in “D-Day” (2013) are some of the most famous. Niranjan founded the production company Electric Apples Entertainment with Ryan Evan Stephan. He is best known for his 2020 short film “Devi” Become a Producer. He is the host of the celebrity talk show “Look Who’s Talking with Niranjan” aired on Zee Café.
