Nishant started his cricket career in 2017 by participating in the U-14 Dhruv Pandove Trophy tournament in Patiala. He scored 290 runs and took 24 wickets in the Haryana Championship. Later, in the same year, he participated in the U-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy tournament and played the 61st match for Haryana against Delhi. He scored 122 points and became the top scorer in the tournament. In 2019, Nishant performed well and scored 53 runs in the U-16 Haryana Vijay Business Trophy, which defeated Jharkhand.

He made his international debut in the U-19 ODI against Afghanistan on 27 December 2021 in Dubai. He has been involved in other international direct investments in countries such as Sri Lanka, Australia, the West Indies, the United Kingdom and Bangladesh. In 2021, he scored 299 runs and 12 wickets for Haryana in the U-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy tournament.

Nishant also tested positive for Covid-19 and was unable to play in the quarter-finals against Bangladesh. After recovering from Covid-19, he played in the semi-final against Australia. In his last game against England, he scored 50 runs off 54 balls.
