Facts/Trivia
- When he was in school, he loved watching plays and often wondered how actors could make plays more impactful. One day, when he was in college, the school put out an audition announcement for people who wanted to act. One of his friends invited him to accompany him to the audition. The casting team chose him because of his voice. They asked him to read a short 20-second news clip from the play. Interestingly, his classmate and famous songwriter Ishad Kamil also participated in the play. One of his classmates played the leading role in a drama and had to apply for further studies somewhere. He was asked to act as agent in place of his classmate. Eventually, his classmate went to a university in Russia. He played the lead role and the show ended up winning several awards. He then went on to perform in more theater performances while in college.
- Nisar Khan said in an interview that his role as a police officer in the Crime Patrol was so popular that people started recognizing him as a real police officer. Sharing an incident, he said:
A man asked me to help him free up his shop from a difficult tenant. A woman came home and asked me to convince her alcoholic husband to stop drinking. I told her I “played” a police officer, but I was not a police officer. She still insists that I talk to her husband. Then, once while shooting in Jaipur, a real police officer came up to me and said, “Because of this show, we started getting respect in society. People now believe that there are honest police officers too. You are like Arun Like Govil (Ramayana) – an idol!”
