Nitesh Kanti Pandey was born in Almora, Uttarakhand, India. According to one source, he was born on Wednesday, January 17, 1973 (age 50; at time of death), while according to another source, he was born on Friday, May 11, 1973 (age 50; at time of death). He attended St. Stanislaus High School in Mumbai. He graduated in Sociology and History from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai (1992). He has been interested in acting since his school days and participated in many theater and cultural programs. After graduating from school, he started working in theater and learned the nuances of acting under the guidance of Pt. Satyadev Dubey, Sunil Shanbag and Bhupendra Deshmukh. In 1990, he moved to Hiranandani Garden Eden in Powai, Mumbai.
