A TERRIFIED dad has said his baby is lucky to be alive after being left unsupervised at nursery on only her third day at nursery.
Mia Ellen, three, was found waiting alone at a nearby bus stop with a coat and backpack on by Steven, 38, and mother Carreen, 39.

A panicked Carreen screamed “here’s Mia” and immediately ran to grab her as the double decker pulled up next to her on the 20km/h dual carriageway.
Mia’s parents were walking to Millennium Primary School in Greenwich, south London, shortly before midday collection time last Friday when they saw her.
Steven told The Sun: “They put my daughter’s life in danger.
“My daughter could have been kidnapped. She could run out into the road. We could have lost our daughter that day.
“We went to school five minutes early and saw her standing on the road. How scary is that?
“She speaks, but not in full sentences, so all she said was ‘I walked.’
“She doesn’t know right from wrong, she’s a baby. Adults should watch over her.”
Mia started kindergarten only last Wednesday, to begin with she worked three hours a day.
The day lengthened by half an hour until noon on Friday when she managed to wander off.
She is believed to have left through a door that did not have video surveillance.
Her parents have now withdrawn her from kindergarten and are nervous about sending her somewhere else.
Steven added: “My wife was having panic attacks. My little girl wasn’t sleeping well.
“She woke up, cried, dreamed.
“It affected the family. If she had gone missing, I would have had to file a huge appeal. She could have died that day or been kidnapped.”
Chief executive Rachel Mollett said: “As a school, the health, safety and well-being of our pupils is our top priority. We are aware of the incident which took place last Friday during the collection for the morning nursery class, in which a child left the premises unaccompanied by staff or family .
“This incident is completely unacceptable and we are relieved that her family immediately found her safe and sound just outside the school when they arrived at collection time.
“We have a beenor continue to cooperate fully with them to ensure adequate support.
“We are currently conducting a full investigation to determine how this happened and as part of this we are reviewing our strict safeguarding policies and procedures.
“We are also immediately implementing a number of measures to ensure this does not happen again, including changing the nursery’s collection exit point, installing additional CCTV cameras and employing additional staff to monitor collection times.
“We would like to reassure our school community that this is an isolated incident and if they have any questions they should contact the school directly.”
