The first six children were the hardest to hit a return blow that Suleman received for Octaples as a single mother, she said. Her oldest, Elijah, revealed that he was even visited by the protective services of children at school.
“I remember being in school repeatedly, where the staff would get me out of class to enter the room,” he recalled. “[I had] no idea why, [and the school would say that] CPS is there. They want to talk to me about something that is happening. And every time I didn’t say anything. ”
Things only got worse when Elijah, who was 7 years old when they were born Octaples, at home “out of control”, breaking the walls and vandalizing from the outside.
“Because of what they went through, the trauma they experienced, Elijah began to act,” Suleman said. “He was just screaming a lot. He started graffiti home, spraying the color. He acted from Trauma. It was a trauma. He was catapulted with me to the public eye, and then, of course, he played because of that trauma.”
“All the sense of normal was pulled under him,” she continued. “His life was abducted by mainstream media, not just tabloid media, all the media. He was outraged, which is understandable.”

“If [our mom] They were in his shoes, and she would be angry, “the American said. He acted in anger, and I took out the anger in sports, and Joshua took out in the games. We all had his little escape. But for him I feel like he was crying more for attention.”
Acknowledging that he was “rebellious” and “mean” when he was younger, Elija explained that it was never because of a lack of love for his family.
“I just learned to adjust [by telling myself]”That’s what it is,” he said.
