He died Thursday surrounded by his family at an LA hospital, according to reports.

Maco, whose real name is Benedict Chiajulam Ihesiba Jr., was found unresponsive in his Los Angeles home in December, according to New York radio station WQHT.

The rapper, 32, was found with an apparent gunshot wound to the head, AllHipHop reported.

He underwent emergency surgery, and Poppa Perc, the rapper’s manager, told AllHipHop at the time that Maco was on “life support, still fighting.”

“They’re doing more tests on his brain and trying to let the swelling go down a little bit, let his head heal a little bit, so they can do the procedure,” he said.

“Only immediate family members are allowed in the hospital, but we are getting updates.”

“I thought he was dead when I first saw him,” the manager said after finding the rapper unresponsive.

“We need everyone’s prayers, but don’t get your hopes up,” he added.

The rapper’s family later disputed the vile rumors circulating online that Maco had died, saying he was “still fighting.”

On Friday, the family confirmed his tragic death.

“His life was proof of resilience, creativity and boundless love.

“He touched so many lives and left a lasting impact with his music, passion and unwavering spirit.”

OG Maco first appeared on the rap scene in 2014 with his successful debut single U Guessed It featuring 2 Chainz.

Maco, who was born in College Park, Georgia, was featured in XXL’s 2015 Annual Freshman Show.

He graced the cover of the hip-hop magazine alongside Fetty Wap, Glizzy, Ince Staples, K Camp and DeJ Loaf, among others.

However, Mac’s rise was cut short after a car accident in 2016 in which he sustained several serious injuries.

Maco suffered cracked vertebrae, palpitations, a broken orbit and multiple broken bones.

“Feeling ALIVE!!! Thank god I’m not too cool for that seat belt,” the rapper wrote on X after the crash.

And in 2019, he was diagnosed with a rare skin condition.
