Who is Olamide?

Olamide Gbenga Adedeji, born March 15, 1989, is a Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter and record company executive. He is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most influential artists and has played a key role in launching the careers of numerous Afrobeats stars.

Adedeji records songs in Yoruba and English. In 2011, he released his debut studio album titled “Rhapsody” while signed to Coded Tunes. His next album, “YBNL”, was released under his own record label called “Yahoo Boy No Laptop” or YBNL Nation.

This album contained hit singles such as “First of All”, “Voice of the Street”, “Stupid Love” and “Ilefo Illuminati”. On November 7, 2013, he unveiled his third studio album titled “Baddest Guy Ever Liveth”, featuring popular songs such as “Durosoke” and “Yemi My Lover”. Namely, on July 17, 2013, Olamide became the first Nigerian artist to sign an endorsement deal with Cîroc.

The Nigerian artiste started his career with the release of his debut single “Eni Duro” in 2010. The same year he showcased his talent with a performance at The Hip Hop World Awards. Olamide initially pursued a degree in Mass Communication at Tai Solarin University but had to discontinue his studies due to financial constraints.

Olamide is happily married to Adebukunmi Aisha Suleiman and together they have two sons named Batifeori Maximilliano Adedeji and Tunrepin Myles Adedeji. Apart from the marriage relationship, Olamide was rumored to have fathered a child with Maria Okanrende, who was employed at The Beat 99.9 FM at the time.
