Dunne announced in July that she will return for her fifth year at LSU.
“Dear LSU, these past four years have changed my life,” she said in a video post. “There’s something about wearing a purple and gold leotard. There’s something about competing in front of 13,000 screaming Tiger fans.”
She continued, “There’s something about coaches pushing you to be your best. And there’s something about being part of a team that made school history.”

Her announcement came after she and the team won the NCAA Gymnastics Championships in April.
In an interview with PEOPLE in May, she shared what it was like to take home the championship trophy. “I felt like my team’s hard work had finally paid off, just four years of hard work towards a common goal,” she said.
The win brought Dunne to tears, but she also expressed her emotions about her teammates’ success as a group.
“I think it’s so special to have a group of young women who all have a common goal in mind and then work towards that goal and then win,” she said. “It’s so rewarding.”
