Olivia Munn shares the latest on her breast cancer journey.
Speaking in a new video, posted on her Instagram page on Wednesday, September 4, the actress, 44, revealed her breast cancer timeline after receiving messages from people who had previously asked her about it.
“I’ve been getting a lot of DMs and questions about my breast cancer timeline so I thought I should put it out there for you,” she said. “I hope that in this way it will help others who have gone through it or are going through it.”
“Maybe I can take some comfort and know that I went the same way and that I’m fine”, Editorial office star, who was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer in April 2023, added.
A written timeline of Munn’s journey with breast cancer was then shown on the screen.

“January 2022 2 mammograms, 2 ultrasounds: clear January 2023 mammogram: clear February 2023 genetic testing: 0% chance of genetic cancer March 2023 Tyrer-Cuzik breast cancer score: 37.3%,” it read timeline before Munn was revealed to have had MRIs, ultrasounds and biopsies in March and April 2023.
Later in April 2023, X-Men: Apocalypse star was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer, resulting in a “nipple lift, lymph node dissection and double mastectomy” the following month.

Munn then had an egg retrieval in June 2023, breast reconstruction in September 2023, Lupron treatment in November 2023, a partial hysterectomy/oophorectomy in April 2024, and arimidex treatment in August 2024.
According to the Mayo Clinic, arimidex, which is also known as anastrozole, is used to treat early hormone receptor-positive breast cancer.
Stating that she won’t go through each step of the timeline individually because it’s too long, Munn asked her followers to post any questions they have in the comments section.
“I’m going to make videos answering as many as I can,” she said. “Also, I just wanted to say to everyone who texted me or stopped me on the street while I was shopping, it really means a lot and it’s been incredibly healing, so thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.”

“My breast cancer timeline,” Munn added in the caption. “I’ve gotten a lot of questions about this and I’ve been wanting to make this video for a while now for those who have asked me, but I’ve been filming, finishing filming, running after a toddler and starting a new medication.”
She continued: “Thank you for your patience and understanding. 💕If you have any questions about my treatment or the surgeries I listed, please put them in the comments.”
Back in May, Munn, who shares son Malcolm 2 with husband John Mulaney, told Vogue that after the diagnosis she froze her eggs, so she and the comedian (42) have the opportunity to expand their family in the future. She previously froze her eggs at the ages of 33 and 39.
“It’s interesting because my 33-year-old eggs were excellent. My 39 year old balls? None of them worked,” Munn told the paper. “As you get older, one month you can have great eggs, the next month not so much.”
“Clearly the month we did at 39 wasn’t a good month. After my diagnosis, we decided to try another round of egg retrieval and we were hoping it was a good month. John and I talked about it a lot and I didn’t feel “It was like we were done growing our family, but I didn’t know if I would have to have chemotherapy or radiation,” she said.
