“2023 was the right year,” Olivia wrote. “A while ago I wasn’t sure how this year would feel in retrospect because getting divorced, tragically losing a younger brother and questioning everything you know as you start over in life is a lot that happened in a short amount of time.”

“But the honest truth is that I am very grateful for this year. It was a challenge for me, it shook me, gave me time to grieve and gave me space to gain confidence,” she continued.

Olivia then thanked all the “people and animals” – alluding to her pet hedgehog she re-homed earlier this year – saying they were “honestly the best parts of my year.” She also noted that while she felt like she had “grown up like this,” she also “gained a bit of youth and childlike wonder and joy.”

One of the biggest difficulties Olivia had to overcome this year was the divorce from her marriage to Ethan (25). The couple, who married in October 2018 when they were both just 20, struggled to see eye-to-eye on several important matters and publicly announced their split in October.

“I feel like I have to draw a line in the sand and say that this is the absolute limit that my personal beliefs will let me go to where you are right now… There are just things that are wrong with the kids that I’m raising as I grow up to think and believe. For me, it’s a matter of principle,” he added later.
