Olivia Rodrigo Says It’s ‘Insane’ to Get 6 Grammy Nominations: ‘Such An Honor’ (Exclusive)

Addressing exclusively to PEOPLE at The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes premiering in Los Angeles on Monday, the 20-year-old singer-songwriter says it’s “such an honor” to receive six nominations at the upcoming Grammy Awards.

“Yes. So crazy. It’s such an honor and a pleasure to be recognized by the music community in such an amazing way,” Rodrigo tells PEOPLE. “I’m so grateful.”

The star also says seeing so many friends nominated is “half the fun.” She adds: “Honestly, sometimes it’s more exciting than being nominated. [You are] so proud of everyone you love.”

“Noah Kahan was nominated for Best New Artist and we were so excited,” Rodrigo tells PEOPLE. “I was so excited that he was nominated. He was so excited that I was nominated. So it’s just a wonderful sharing of love.”

Rodriga’s Grammy nominations include Album of the Year for her song “Vampire,” Album of the Year for intestines, song of the year for “Vampire”, best pop solo performance for “Vampire”, best pop vocal album for intestines, and Best Rock Song for “Ballad Of A Homeschooled Girl”.

Sheryl Crow says Olivia Rodrigo is ‘the real deal’: ‘She’s a great songwriter’

The three-time Grammy winner’s “Can’t Catch Me Now” — which was released earlier this month — also appears on The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’ sound recording.

“I love everything Hunger GamesRodrigo tells PEOPLE. “I love books, I love movies and I really love movies. I’m very honored to be asked to write this song and I’m very excited to be here.”

At the event on Monday night, Rodrigo wore a black glittery dress with floral embellishments. She attended the party with her friend, singer-songwriter Conan Gray and the sizzling couple posed together on the red carpet.
