The former couple first started dating in 2011 after meeting in Saturday night live the final party and the following year he got engaged. They welcomed son Otis in August 2014 and daughter Daisy in October 2016, before calling it quits in 2020.
After news of their divorce broke in November 2020, a source told PEOPLE that their children were their main concern. “It was amicable and they settled into a great routine of co-parenting. The children are the priority and the heart of the family relationship,” the insider said.
Although things seemed amicable between the couple for a while after the split, the co-parents made headlines in April 2022 when Sudeikis served Wilde with legal documents regarding their children while she was on stage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
That August, a source told PEOPLE that despite their contentious custody battle, Wilde “wants to focus on what’s best for the kids.”
“She and Jason don’t speak to each other, so they have help communicating about the custody arrangement,” the insider added.

In March, court filings revealed that Sudeikis and Wilde are no closer to resolving their custody battle. The House Alumina’s legal team claimed Sudeikis was trying to “run her into debt” as they tried to determine whether Otis and Daisy should live in New York or Los Angeles.
A filing by Wilde’s legal team in April claimed that Sudeikis “did not pay child support” to cover expenses outside of tuition. This was denied by a source close to the actor.
“Olivia and Jason shared expenses evenly and fairly throughout their relationship, including everything related to the kids,” an insider told PEOPLE. “Jason has taken it upon himself to initiate proceedings to ensure that both parents will properly care for the children based on the court’s decision as to what is financially fair going forward.”
While talking to Party tonight earlier in March, Sudeikis said he hoped his children would grow up to have fun-filled careers.
“If any of us get the chance to find a job where we’re having so much fun, and if that’s the example that me and Olivia are setting for them, then I’m happy for that,” he said in part.
