Om Bhosale made his professional cricket debut at the Dilip Vengsarkar Cricket Academy and got off to a good start after he was selected for the state cricket team of the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA). He was named the captain of the Maharashtra Under-16 team. Later, he played for the Maharashtra Under-19 and Under-23 teams. He was also the captain of the Western Zone. He was selected for the Asian Challenger Cup. He was part of the India Blue team and was also a selector for the Under-19 World Cup 20 team. He failed to make it to the top 15; as his name was listed at 16th place.
After this tournament, he was selected in the Ranji team at the age of 18 to play against Karnataka at the MCA Stadium in Pune. He is also associated with Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC); as it is a corporate alliance of his team. He has been playing in the BCCI circuit for the past 4 years; where he participated in various national camps under the guidance of the famous Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid.
