Omar Epps claims that he is not one to cry easily.
But the 50-year-old actor admits that “the weirdest things can make me cry,” he told PEOPLE in this week’s issue.
“I can be watching a Nat Geo documentary about this family of crickets, and something happens to one of them, and I’ll ask myself, ‘Is this what I’m getting old for? Why am I crying for Fred the cricket?'”
Epps, who has just published his second novel, Nubia: Reckoningsat down with the magazine for One Last Thing:
Last time I danced: My wife [singer Keisha Spivey] and I was at an event, and she looked great, so I had to take her hand and cut the carpet. I’m more of a two-step guy.
One last bit of self care: I’m actually planning a massage in the next few weeks. I need someone to stand on my back and do all the work. I try to get one twice a month.
Last Honey Task: Something happened to our sink, so I ordered a brand new one and then put it in. Now every time someone uses it, I kind of smile really cheekily.
Latest fashion disaster: I saw this photo of me when I was 14 or 15 and I was wearing some Hammer pants with club shoes, a gaucho shirt with my African beads and some glasses. Maybe I thought I was cool.
Nubia: Reckoning it is now available wherever books are sold.
