Between 1996 and 2023, he worked with many well-known brands such as Nike, HP, Coca-Cola, Amazon, Bose Audio Systems, Aircel, Horlicks, Bacardi, Lay’s and Tanishq. During this time he directed and produced many commercials. Oni co-founded the production company Electric Dreams Film Company in 2010 with his long-time friend and colleague Suparna Chatterjee. According to reports, Sen and Chatterjee have been working together for nearly 20 years, from 2000 to 2023.
In 2011, Sen directed the commercial for Horlicks Gold when it was first launched. The ad focused on the bond between mothers and their growing children and quickly gained widespread popularity. On March 8, 2018, he released a short film titled “Paro” on YouTube. The film was produced for Hewlett-Packard in San Diego, California. It gained recognition and was a finalist in the 2018 Cannes Film Festival Directors Competition.

Sen made his debut as a documentary filmmaker with the critically acclaimed 2016 release of Saints. The filming process for “Saints of Evil” lasted three years. The documentary follows the lives of eight women from around the world and focuses on the Seven Deadly Sins. “Saints of Evil” received numerous accolades and screened at several international and national film festivals.

In 2020, he made his debut as a web series director with the Hindi crime thriller web series Asur: Welcome to Your Dark Side, which aired on the OTT platform Voot. The first episode of “The Dead Talk” was released on March 2, 2020 and was well received by audiences and critics. The first season of the show is divided into eight parts, with all episodes released in the first week of March 2020.
He was invited to direct the second season of the 2021 Hindi web series “Out of Love”; the second season of the show was released in April 2021 and received positive feedback from the audience. Later, Azul: Welcome to Your Dark Side was renewed for a second season following strong demand from viewers; however, the release of the second season was delayed due to the Covid-19 lockdown as filming and other work were delayed Until June 2023. The first episode of the second season of Azul: Welcome to Your Dark Side was released on June 1, 2023, and became an instant hit with viewers, surpassing the popularity of the first season.

- In his free time, Ornesson enjoys traveling.
- Speaking in an interview about his early days as an advertising filmmaker, Ornessen revealed that he became a filmmaker to make flashy films, noting that at the time he preferred such films to those with A movie with high quality narrative and story.
