But according to the actors who star in them, the lively moments are anything but.

In addition to having to deal with cameras recording their every move, breath and awkward grunt, many of Hollywood’s finest say the racy moments often go wrong.
Among them is Scottish actor James McAvoy, who revealed that he injured himself while filming an impromptu orgy for his new film Turn Up The Sun!
“We were doing some weird thing and somebody grabbed the back of my head and started biting my neck,” the 44-year-old told the Restless Natives podcast.
“I just smashed it and hit my knee hard on the ground.
“I think that’s the only time I’ve ever been injured making a movie.”
And the X-Men star isn’t the only one who’s had a sex scene go wrong – from excessive sweating awkwardness to shock injuries, we reveal some of the worst.

During the filming of the famous kink film 50 Shades of Grey, Dakota Johnson described how she often felt “a little shocked” and it’s no wonder.
Not only did she shoot multiple takes for raunchy scenes alongside Jamie Dornan, who played BDSM-loving billionaire Christian Grey, but she also suffered two injuries.

Recalling one of them, Dakota said: “Once I got a whiplash from him when he threw me on the bed. So fucking painful. And I wish we had a gag reel from the shoot.”
The actress revealed that it took 17 frames to film that one scene and says she couldn’t move her neck afterwards because her head was snapping back and forth so many times.

Dakota, who played Anastasia Steele, also fell foul of another early foul.
She explained: “One time we were doing a scene in Christian’s kitchen.
“I [thought it would be funny] hide in the cabinet. I pulled the handle, but it wasn’t a real cabinet. The whole set fell on me.”
Reflecting on her time on the 50 Shades series, Dakota said: “I left the set a bit shocked. The drive home from work always helped me wake up… and a big glass of wine.”
A sheer mistake

Anne Hathaway was left red-faced when she “unnecessarily exposed herself” on the set of Love and Other Drugs in 2010.
The rom-com focuses on the characters of Maggie Murdoch and Jamie Randall, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, who fall for each other after a casual relationship.
This meant a lot of lively scenes for Anne, and during one of them, she seems to get a little too into the character.
She recalled: “On the day when I was shooting the scene where I have to take off my raincoat and be naked underneath, I thought we were filming.
“But it turned out we were just practicing and I got naked in front of a lot of people unnecessarily, but hey, I was just doing my job.”

While filming a raunchy scene for The Legend of Tarzan, Margot Robbie admitted she got a little “carry” and accidentally hit her co-star Alexander Skarsgard.
Director David Yates explained that this was after he asked the actress: “Just slap Alex while you’re making love, just slap him a little.”
He wanted to create an “earthy, sensual moment” in the film to show her character – Jane – “enjoying sex” with Tarzan, but it seems she may have gone a bit overboard.
David said: “The only bruise [Alexander] during the entire shoot, there was probably that kick from Margot, which says a lot about her fighting spirit.”

Margot tried to downplay the impact in an interview with Buro247, insisting: “I didn’t hurt Alexander and I didn’t punch him in the face, at least not hard.”

That wasn’t Margot’s only sex-scene misstep – another came during filming of a steamy mess on a cash-covered bed with Leonardo DiCaprio for The Wolf Of Wall Street.
“All that money got me a million cuts on my back!” she told The Daily Beast.
“It’s not as glamorous as it sounds. If anyone ever plans to have sex over a pile of money: don’t.
“Maybe the real money is a little softer, but the fake money is like paper and when I got up from the bed, I turned to get my robe and everyone gasped.
“I said, ‘What is it?’ And they said, ‘You look like you’ve been spanked a million times. Your back is covered with thousands of red scratches.’”

With so many cameras focused on them, it’s no wonder some actors get a little hot under the collar while filming sex scenes.
And for Robert Pattinson, his lovemaking scene with Hollywood legend Julianne Moore in 2014’s Map To The Stars was made all the more embarrassing by excessive sweating.
He told Heat magazine: “I’m sweating like crazy, I was literally trying to catch the drops of sweat to stop them from going back to her.
“Afterwards she said, ‘Are you having a panic attack?’ It was so embarrassing.”

Surprisingly, Robert also revealed that his real orgasm was filmed for a scene while playing Salvador Dali in the 2008 film Little Ashes.
Robert claimed that he had to take extreme measures in front of the cameras because acting the euphoric moment was not convincing enough and he later feared that it would ruin his career.
When asked why he couldn’t pretend, he said, “Try. I can tell you right now, there is no way. It just doesn’t work.”

Most actors would have expected a few awkward moments and giggles during the sex scene, but few could have predicted that a co-star would throw up.
This unfortunately happened to Lizzy Caplan when she starred alongside Michael Sheen in the American TV show Masters Of Sex.
She told The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien: “I start to unbutton my blouse and I notice that I’m really nervous and my hands are shaking.
“Then I grabbed his hands and I noticed that his hands were shaking and a little wet, and he looked bad and nervous and shaky and that made me feel a little better.
“And we finished the scene, I put my hand on my chest and they were yelling cut, and he immediately went to the trash can and threw up.
“I found out later that he got food poisoning, but at this point there’s no way to reasonably digest it. I thought it was a direct cause and effect situation.
“My whole self-confidence went to rock bottom and I realized that I was a monster and that anyone who touched me was going to throw up immediately and that’s how it was going to be.”

Years before he played James Bond, Sean Connery had a real-life 007 moment when his co-star’s jealous partner showed up on set shortly before they filmed a sex scene.
During the filming of Another Time, Another Place in 1957, it was rumored that the Scottish star and Hollywood actress Lana Turner had an affair.
Her enraged boyfriend Johnny Stompanato, who was the mobster of American gangster Mickey Cohen, flew to London and allegedly stormed the set with a gun.
He is said to have pointed a gun at Sean and told him to get his hands off Lana, only for the former bodybuilder and karate black belt to disarm him.
Sean allegedly grabbed Johnny’s arm, twisted his wrist until he dropped the gun and punched him before the tough guy ran away.
