Our families cut us off for doing OnlyFans… my dad said ‘only whores do this work’ but I’ve bought a £500k house – The Sun

IT is the website that revolutionized the sex industry and overnight brought wealth to those willing to bare it all.

But OnlyFans stars warn the online subscription service, which makes more than £4 BILLION a year, is tearing families apart as those who take off their gear are in turn rejected by their nearest and dearest.

The Sun on Sunday told how former Emmerdale actress Sammy Winward had fallen out with her daughter Mia, 19, over the teenager’s work on OnlyFans last week.

Mia insists that interacting with her fans on the site earns her ten times more than she would in most other jobs she could pursue.

But she adds: “I absolutely love my mum, I love my whole family, but none of them are talking to me now.”

Similarly, ex-Southampton footballer Matt Le Tissier has previously been in red with his son Mitchell and daughter-in-law Alex — who have four children — for her OnlyFans modelling.

He admitted in 2022: “I don’t want to have anything to do with them anymore.”

But The Sun on Sunday can reveal these celebrities aren’t the only ones ruined by their loved ones selling what they believe to be body and soul for internet riches.

Former estate agent Courtney Sins, who earned £1.1million on OnlyFans last year, admits she paid the price of being cut off by her sister and parents.

Courtney, 41, from Northamptonshire, gave up her £50,000-a-year job to join the site, selling scrappy custom videos for up to £1,200 a piece.

‘Pension money’

She says: “Some of my family didn’t like me having these online relationships with people and we haven’t spoken since.

“I may regret it in the future if I can’t heal the damage with my family. But I have to do what makes me happy.

“I had been on OnlyFans for a few years when I thought it was time to give them credit. They were absolutely appalled.

“I tried to talk to my sister, but she doesn’t want anything to do with me.

“Ever since I broke up, it’s been so upsetting. I hope that in time we will be able to rebuild the bridges.

“It’s not like I’m a porn star who has orgies with different people every week. I’m just having fun and earning for my future and retirement. I have to live my life.”

Courtney expects to pay £75,000 in tax, adding: “I’m a limited company, I pay VAT and it’s all legal. People think I’m just selling myself online, but I’m a serious business woman and this is serious business.

SPLIT: She no longer speaks to her sister and parents after giving up her £50,000-a-year job as an estate agent to go on the spot.

COURTNEY SAYS: Ever since I got broken up, it’s been so upsetting. But I’m making money I could only dream of.

I hope that in time we will be able to rebuild the bridges. People think I’m just selling myself online, but I’m a serious business woman and this is serious business.

“I’m making money that I could only dream of. I spend it on clothes and underwear because it’s tax deductible, and I put the money into retirement. I work every day.”

Meanwhile, former Bella Italia restaurant assistant manager Elena Xonia also had a heartbreaking fallout with her family after switching careers to advertise her wares on OnlyFans.

Romanian-born Elena, 31, from Luton, who earns up to £50,000 a month, started posting in March 2021 and her dad John, 56, no longer speaks to her.

Jobless John and her 50-year-old nurse, Floria, were devastated when a neighbor in Bacau, Romania, told them what she was secretly doing. But Elena will not be swayed as the income has enabled her to buy a house worth £500,000.

She tells OnlyFans: “I tried to do something on the side while I was working in a restaurant.

“The first month I made £800, the second £2,500 and then I made £25,000 in six months, which was crazy.

“I decided to quit the restaurant because it didn’t make sense to work 40 hours a week for £1,800 when I could be earning that much.”

She now earns between £20,000 and £50,000 a month, adding: “I sell nudes privately, but I focus more on things related to what we just talk about, which is nice.

INCOME: £345,000

TAX: £35,000 personal and £56,000 corporation (total £91,000)

SPLIT: He is no longer on speaking terms with his father after a neighbor tipped him off that Elena had given up her managerial job at the Bella Italia restaurant to go to the place.

ELENA SAYS: My dad came on the phone and was rude to me and now he doesn’t talk to me anymore.

He says I disappointed him – and maybe he’s right. But at the same time I’ve just bought a £500,000 house.

“Currently I have about 3,000 subscribers and I work ten or 12 hours a day. One day I called my mom and she told me that my neighbor showed her photos from my Instagram. I said, ‘What’s the problem?’.

My dad then came on the phone and was very rude to me and now he doesn’t talk to me anymore.

He says I’ve let him down – and maybe he’s right, but at the same time I’ve just bought a half a million pound house.

“He says, ‘Only whores do this kind of work.’ It hurts, to be honest, but I’m 31 and I’m old enough to take care of myself.”

“Selling Our Souls”

Elena claims to be a hardworking business woman. She says: “People have the impression that we are selling our soul, but if you want to make money, you have to put in a lot of work.

“Last year I earned £345,000 and paid £35,000 in personal tax and £56,000 in corporation tax.

“That’s after deducting my deductible expenses including office, camera, lighting, clothing and microphones. I have a lot of expenses and a marketing company.

“I think I’m paying too much tax because it’s almost £100,000 a year. But I love my job because I can work from anywhere — and the money is really good.”

YOU ARE IN CONTROL IS A MYTH

SALLY LAND, Aunt of the Sun in Sunday Agony, says:

“It’s easy to see the appeal of becoming an OnlyFans star – unlike the rest of the sex industry, performers seem to be in control of their work and image.

“Then there’s the money. Many women who have chosen this talk about empowerment and everyone has a right to choose. But no one who creates content can maintain control. Once published, it is subject to being recorded, filmed and posted on other sites.

“People who pay for pleasure can develop a sense of entitlement to you, and there are people who research OnlyFans creators’ personal information and then post it. Finally, I’m not sure losing your family is a worthwhile price.”
