Padma Lakshmi Takes Fans Behind the Scenes of Her Emmy Awards Prep

Padma Lakshmi is getting ready for her big night!

Former A top chef The 53-year-old host recently gave fans a glimpse of her preparations for the upcoming 2024 Creative Arts Emmys as she traveled around New York City in a private car. In her Instagram Reel, she explained that she was looking for dresses for the awards, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday.

The TV host was nominated for both A top chef and Taste the nation with Padma Lakshmi.

“I’m going to the Emmy rehearsal,” she says in Reel. “It’s a week before the Emmys, the Creative Arts Emmys, that is, but we’re hoping to try and find a nice Emmy dress or a couple of nice Emmy dresses and I’m really excited about one rehearsal.”

“And now I’m going to the studio and I can’t tell you who it is,” she added.

On Saturday, Lakshmi seemed to jokingly say that she was going to make a bold statement on the Emmys red carpet. She shared a video on her Instagram Story of a peacock opening its feathers and displaying rainbow colors.

“Me rehearsing for the Emmys,” she captioned the clip.

Lakshmi made a surprise announcement in June that she would be leaving A top chef after 17 years and 19 seasons of hosting the show. She started her involvement in the Bravo show after Katie Lee Biegel left.

“After a long search, I made the difficult decision to leave A top chef“, the host and judge wrote on Instagram at the time. “Having completed an illustrious 20th season as host and executive producer, I am extremely proud to have played a part in building such a successful show.”

“I feel it’s time to move on and make room for Taste the nationmy books and other creative pursuits,” Lakshmi added about her award-winning series, which is now in its second season.

Kristen Kish, a A top chef favorite to win Season 10, has been announced as the show’s new host in July 2023. She will join judges Gail Simmons and Tom Colicchio in the upcoming season as they watch chefs from across the country battle it out in Wisconsin.
